Ask the world what womanhood is about, and you'll get a blank stare in return. No one really knows. Young women are devoid of a vision beyond popularity, material wealth, a cute boyfriend, or a dream career. Trudging through the teen years, significant questions are left unanswered: What's the point of purity? Modesty? Femininity? Why did God create us in the first place?

From the glorified feminist ideals on theater screens to "mean girls" at school, it couldn’t be more evident: the world’s expectations for us are a far cry from God’s design. Embracing our culture’s standards for womanhood only results in pain, not freedom. We're hungry for a better way.

God has something greater in mind--but His idea of beauty isn’t defined by culturally-dictated physical characteristics or the approval of others. He’s given His daughters a higher call: to love Christ with abandon and live every day to bring Him glory.

However, this “inner beauty" is not intrinsic; it doesn't come naturally. Instead, inner beauty develops slowly as a believer learns to love Christ more deeply. The more passionate for the Gospel we become, the more our hearts grow to reflect His image.

The goal of Beauty from the Heart is to nurture this growing beauty and counter our culture's values with God's breathtaking vision.
